JOB TITLE: General Manager
JOB TYPE: Part-time
LOCATION: Washington, California
SUPERVISOR: Reports directly to the board of directors
PAY STRUCTURE: hourly
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implement and apply District Policies and Procedures
2. Responsible for operation of production facilities.
a. Performs daily rounds, checks condition of facilities, collects and records production and process data.
b. Operates chlorination injection system.
c. Performs filtration rate adjustments.
d. Operates and maintains dam intake structures.
e. Orders all supplies associated with the filter plant.
3. Operates Distribution System:
a. Meter turn on and turn offs
b. Isolation of line sections for repair.
c. Responsible for all maintenance and repairs. May work alone or coordinate with contractors.
4. Responds to Customer calls:
a. Investigates and resolves water quality calls
b. Reports other matters to board for resolution
5. Responsible for compliance of water system:
a. All required water sampling
b. All required/associated reporting
c. Interaction with regulatory agency
6. Manage Secretarial duties to the District Board
a. Board meetings
i. Prepare and post agendas
ii. Prepare board packets
iii. Take minutes of meeting
iv. Support board chair during meetings
b. Collect district mail and distribute or respond as necessary
c. Perform district business as directed
d. Answer phone calls and messages
e. read and record monthly meter readings- more often as necessary
f. Provide support to board members as requested
g. other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS and LICENSING
EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a journeyman operator, preferably at a surface water treatment plant. Experience in distribution repairs and maintenance is desired.
SKILLS:
1. Ability to identify problems and provide solutions
2. Effective verbal communication
3. Accuracy when recording numbers and observations.
4. Ability to use e-mail, spreadsheets, camera, internet uploading.
5. Ability to use hand tools associated with the industry.
6. Strong sense of importance of providing consistently safe drinking water.
REQUIRED LICENSING:
Must possess and maintain valid licensing of the following:
1. California Department of Public Health Distribution 2
2. California Department of Public Health Treatment 2
3. California class C driver’s license.
Ability to be available on weekends and after hours
